Among real estate investors, it’s an open secret that Dallas is one of the fastest-growing celebrity hotspots in America. Celebrities are starting to flee New York City and Los Angeles in favor of a more spread out, quiet, and still urban area. Dallas fits that bill to the tee. With more and more A-listers snapping up homes in Dallas, it’s easy to feel like everyone lives here. Here's the scoop on the biggest celebrities who live in Dallas.

hash-markSelena Gomez

The most famous celebrity who lives in Dallas is Selena Gomez. A former child actress turned pop singer, Selena Gomez, was a native Texan before you would see her name in shining lights. Like many other locals to Texas, she didn’t want to stick to Hollywood if she could afford to avoid it.

While Gomez does have other properties (allegedly, anyway) that she uses when she’s filming or touring, her primary residence is in Dallas. More specifically, it’s in a highly secure gated community that is near Highland Park in Downtown Dallas.

hash-markDemi Lovato

You may have expected a lady as chic and cool as Demi Lovato to be from California, but no. She’s spent most of her life hailing from Dallas and absolutely adores her hometown. Despite all the success she found in Hollywood, Demi never really wanted to live there. It just wasn’t her style.

Once she had the money to do so, she returned to her hometown, where he is absolutely adored. This is one of multiple homes that she has, per Hollywood rumors and common sense.

hash-markGeorge W. Bush

Call him one of the worst presidents or the best presidents, but you can call him “neighbor” regardless of your political leaning. Ex-president George W. Bush has been a proud Texan for ages.

In the past, the Bush family tended to stay in Houston. However, since the presidency, Bush ended up moving to Dallas. It’s said his home is absolutely palatial, but there’s not much information on it.

hash-markTroy Aikman

Yes, it’s true. A lot of former Dallas Cowboys players end up falling in love with the area—and that might just be due to the region’s famous Southern hospitality. Troy Aikman is yet another football hero who has chosen to continue living in the area after his retirement from the game.

It’s not certain where Aikman lives since he can be a pretty private guy. However, I think I speak for everyone when I say it’d be awesome to hear that he’s neighbors with Emmitt.

hash-markHilary Duff

Do you remember 2000s sweetheart Hilary Duff? The Disney star was one of the fastest-rising actresses of the decade. You either wanted to befriend her, or you wanted to be her. As many people already know, Duff was actually born in Houston.

However, she’s lived in Dallas ever since her big break. While she did (or does) own some California property, she never truly wanted to leave her hometown. She lives in North Dallas, where she often ends up hanging out with locals.

hash-markEmmitt Smith

Is it really so surprising to hear that someone who played for the Dallas Cowboys would choose to live in Dallas? After Smith did his stint as a rusher on the team, he decided to stick around Dallas as a hometown hero.

Locals regularly see him when he’s not showing his dance skills on TV or making a television cameo. Considering how important football is to Texans, it’s safe to say that he will always have a warm welcome here.

hash-markBlake Shelton

If you are a staunch fan of country, you already know that Blake Shelton is geared toward all things Western. Truth be told, he grew up close to Texas…in Oklahoma. Blake is still a fan of the region, but he made a point of moving to Dallas after he got his stardom.

Blake married pop singer Gwen Stefani and then got a 12,000-acre ranch that is right on the city’s outskirts. It became an iconic location after the two superstars exchanged vows onsite. The entire marriage was put on The Knot’s wedding coverage, so you can get an inside tour if you want.

hash-markPepper Schwartz

Not to be confused with the soda by a similar name (though that *is* a Texas favorite), Dr. Schwartz is actually a highly esteemed relationship expert. You might have seen her on television, on shows like Married At First Sight.

Dr. Pepper Schwartz is a bit unique in the sense that she was a trailblazer in a trend that can be seen throughout Texas today. She moved to Dallas from California in 1991. She has never left, showing that she truly does feel an affinity for the Lone Star State.

hash-markAlfonso Ribeiro

Do you remember The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? If you lived in the 90s, then it may have been your first introduction to Will Smith. It was his breakout acting role. While everyone knows Smith played the Fresh Prince himself, they often forget who played his uppity, humorous, and bungling cousin Carlton.

It was Alfonso Ribeiro. While Ribeiro occasionally still does work in Hollywood, his primary residence is in Dallas. There is still no word on whether he does the Carlton at home.

hash-markErykah Badu

Musician and singer Erykah Badu has been a darling of the soul and R&B scene since the 90s. With the sheer number of records she’s sold, it’s clear that she could buy a very luxurious home wherever she pleases.

Erykah Badu chose to live in South Dallas. She has a 3,200-square-foot house in a luxurious part of the city.
