The Tate is another luxury building in Chelsea that is owned by Related. The property is a bit older than Abington House, having been built in 2001, but it is in the heart of West Chelsea, offering residents unparalleled access to Chelsea Piers and the High Line Park. Some of the best art, culture, entertainment, and nightlife can be found in the vicinity of the building, which makes it highly desirable.

When it comes to amenities, few buildings can compete with 507 West Chelsea. The property has an indoor swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a children’s playroom, and a lounge, as well as an impressive collection of outdoor space. There are landscaped gardens and an impressive roof deck with stunning vistas of the NYC skyline.
Apartments for rent at 507 West Chelsea are relatively expensive, but the building often offers many concessions and promotions, including free rent for a month or two. Studios are priced around $3,500 while one-bedrooms are generally $4,000+ with most two-bedroom homes going for $5,500+.
If a prime Midtown location is what you’re after, it’s hard to beat 777 6th Avenue. This Chelsea rental building might not be the newest or most luxurious, but it has an enviable location close to where Chelsea meets Nomad, offering residents access to the best of both neighborhoods.
When it comes to apartment interiors and property amenities, the building is more or less average. You can expect fairly cookie-cutter floor plans with apartments that feature floor-to-ceiling windows and stainless steel kitchens. The best thing about the building is its location, which is close to everything. You’re just a short walk from Madison Square Park, and residents enjoy all the world-class shopping and dining Midtown Manhattan has to offer.
777 6th Avenue Apartments are pricey, with monthly rents starting above $3,000 even for the smallest studios, while larger alcove studios are above $3,500 per month with one bedroom residents going for $4,000-$5,000 and two-bedroom in the building starting at around $6,000.
AVA High Line, 525 West 28th Street
If you’re looking for a Chelsea apartment building that offers luxury for a more affordable price, AVA High Line is a great option. Built by AvalonBay Communities in 2013, this rental property is 13-stories high and is a LEED-certified, energy-efficient building. The Ohm NYC, 312 Eleventh Avenue
Similar to AVA High Line, which is only a couple blocks away, The Ohm is one of the best Chelsea rental buildings for apartment hunters that are looking for a great value. The 34-story tower was built by Douglaston Development in 2010 and has 369 apartments. The building was designed by architect Stephen B. Jacobs Group, while the interiors are by And Pepper Interior Design, who is also behind interiors at the iconic Gansevoort Hotel.
Each residence at The Ohm is well-equipped with high-end finishes and floor-to-ceiling windows. Almost all of the apartments have in-home laundry, and many also feature jaw-dropping views of the midtown skyline and the Hudson River. There are plenty of on-site amenities for tenants to enjoy, including an expansive landscaped terrace, a well-equipped fitness center, and a full floor of additional amenities. Another perk is the fact that the High Line Park and the newly built Hudson Yards Vessel are both a block away from the building.
You can rent a studio at The Ohm for around $3,000 while one-bedrooms go for $4,000-$4,500 per month. Two-bedrooms in this West Chelsea building generally start around $5,000+.
21 Chelsea, 120 West 21st street
Another Stephen B. Jacobs Group designed building, 21 West Chelsea is a boutique rental property in the heart of the neighborhood. This 14-story apartment building has 210 residences and is managed by UDR, one of the largest property managers in the US.
The luxury apartments at 21 Chelsea feature high-end finishes. Highlights include soaring ceilings and gourmet kitchens that feature a contemporary design with granite countertops, custom cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances. Many residences also feature private terraces and spacious, walk-in closets.
In terms of amenities, tenants at 21 Chelsea have access to an incredible landscaped rooftop terrace, a state-of-the-art gym, and an expansive tenants’ lounge. Best of all, the property enjoys a central location that is close to the intersection of Chelsea, Flatiron and Nomad. While the other Chelsea buildings may have more amenities, you really can’t beat the location of 21 Chelsea, which is the best thing about the property and earns it a spot on our list.

Sloane Chelsea, 360 West 34th Street
If you’re on a tighter budget, you should check out Sloane Chelsea, which is one of the most affordable buildings in the neighborhood. This historic property has an impressive Georgian facade and offers some pretty solid deals on its 252 rentals.
Most of the apartments at Sloane Chelsea have been renovated in 2018, and feature luxurious new kitchens and bathrooms. Rents have risen in response to the new renovations, but this Chelsea building is nonetheless one of the best priced around.
Rental prices for apartments at Sloane Chelsea start around $2,700 for a studio while one-bedroom apartments start around $3,300. There aren’t many larger two-bedroom residences in the building, but when they do hit the market they generally go for $5,000+ per month.
The Carteret NYC, 208 West 23rd Street
Another Chelsea building with relatively reasonable rental prices is The Carteret, which is located at 208 West 23rd Street, near 7th Avenue. The 17-story, 262 unit building was built in 1927 and is now managed by the well-respected Brodsky Organization, a company known for their well-priced, and well-managed apartments.
Most of the apartments at The Carteret have been recently renovated, and feature modern stainless steel kitchens. Not all of the residences at The Carteret are renovated, however, a fact reflected in the prices, with older apartments renting for a discount. The building also offers residents numerous on-site amenities including a gym and an expansive rooftop terrace.
Apartments at The Carteret can be rented for as little as $2,500 for a studio. One-bedroom residences go for around $4,000 and the two-bedrooms, which tend to be quite large are usually around $6,000.
Chelsea Centro, 200 West 26th Street
Chelsea Centro is a luxury rental building developed by TF Cornerstone. The property is centrally located at the intersection of West 26th Street and 7th Avenue, meaning that residents have access to the best the neighborhood has to offer. While it’s not the most luxurious apartment building in Chelsea, it’s well-managed, and worth consideration, especially if you commute, as it’s close to lots of public transportation.
Chelsea Centro Apartments are spacious and well equipped. The property has 231 residences and rents are usually around $3,500 for studios, $4,000-$4,500+ for one-bedrooms, and $6,000+ for two-bedroom homes.
