The Tate, 535 West 23rd Street

The Tate is another luxury building in Chelsea that is owned by Related. The property is a bit older than Abington House, having been built in 2001, but it is in the heart of West Chelsea, offering residents unparalleled access to Chelsea Piers and the High Line Park. Some of the best art, culture, entertainment, and nightlife can be found in the vicinity of the building, which makes it highly desirable.

The apartments at The Tate have a variety of layouts ranging from smaller studios that rent for around $3,300 and alcove studios that are closer to $3,700 per month up to one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms which go for $5,000+ and $6,000+ respectively.

One Hudson Yards, 530 West 30th Street

The Related Companies have raised the bar for luxury rental living with their recently opened One Hudson Yards property. The property, which was completed in 2017, is simply the most luxurious apartment building in Chelsea. The visually striking 33 story tower was designed by architecture firm Davis Brody Bond and has 178 rental residences that feature the most exquisite condo-level finishes.

Each apartment home at One Hudson Yards comes equipped with top-of-the-line finishes and fixtures that include gourmet kitchens with integrated Miele appliances, soaring 10-foot ceilings, in-home laundry, and elegantly designed marble bathrooms. When it comes to apartment interiors and property amenities, the building is more or less average. You can expect fairly cookie-cutter floor plans with apartments that feature floor-to-ceiling windows and stainless steel kitchens. The best thing about the building is its location, which is close to everything. You’re just a short walk from Madison Square Park, and residents enjoy all the world-class shopping and dining Midtown Manhattan has to offer.

777 6th Avenue Apartments are pricey, with monthly rents starting above $3,000 even for the smallest studios, while larger alcove studios are above $3,500 per month with one bedroom residents going for $4,000-$5,000 and two-bedroom in the building starting at around $6,000.

The 34-story tower was built by Douglaston Development in 2010 and has 369 apartments. The building was designed by architect Stephen B. Another Chelsea building with relatively reasonable rental prices is The Carteret, which is located at 208 West 23rd Street, near 7th Avenue. The 17-story, 262 unit building was built in 1927 and is now managed by the well-respected Brodsky Organization, a company known for their well-priced, and well-managed apartments.

Most of the apartments at The Carteret have been recently renovated, and feature modern stainless steel kitchens. Not all of the residences at The Carteret are renovated, however, a fact reflected in the prices, with older apartments renting for a discount. The building also offers residents numerous on-site amenities including a gym and an expansive rooftop terrace.

Apartments at The Carteret can be rented for as little as $2,500 for a studio. One-bedroom residences go for around $4,000 and the two-bedrooms, which tend to be quite large are usually around $6,000.

The property is centrally located at the intersection of West 26th Street and 7th Avenue, meaning that residents have access to the best the neighborhood has to offer.
