Adjacent to Shenandoah National Park, Rappahannock County is in the northern Piedmont Region of Virginia and home to around 7400 residents. It’s a very rural community with a population density of about 28 residents per square mile located about 70 miles west of DC. Although no large private employers are located in the county, it’s still one of the wealthiest in the state, with a median household income of $98,663 and a median home price of $519,551.
