About Windsor Terrace

Located directly southwest of Prospect Park, Windsor Terrace shares many similarities with neighboring Park Slope. The neighborhood is named after the town of Windsor, in England, and is well-known for its tranquil, tree-lined streets as well as its brick townhouses. Windsor Terrace is mostly residential, making it popular with families who enjoy the distinctive small-town vibe. You might even recognize the neighborhood’s streets from the big screen as it has often been a backdrop for Hollywood films, including The Amazing Spiderman. Many residents are transplants from Prospect Park, having been attracted to the area thanks to the many similarities between the two neighborhoods and the better real estate prices in Windsor Terrace. This has, of course, driven prices up in recent years but has also led to the opening of many hip new restaurants and trendy boutiques, making the neighborhood all the more convenient. There hasn't been much new residential development in the area, so you should expect older apartments in classic brownstone buildings and rowhouses over more modern luxury high-rise apartment buildings. Overall, rental inventory can feel limited due to the small size of the community, and finding a no-fee apartment can be especially challenging. With its ideal location in central Brooklyn, Windsor Terrace is only a short commute from Downtown Brooklyn and less than a 45-minute subway ride to Manhattan.
